1. The Infinity Edge Look

If your villa has any kind of view, even just a partial one, an infinity pool makes the water look like it’s spilling straight into the horizon. It’s a simple trick but it makes any backyard feel way more upscale. 

2. Dark Tiled Pools

Forget the usual light blue. Dark grey or black tiles are having a real moment right now. The water looks deeper and almost mirror-like, especially once the sun goes down and the lighting kicks in. 

3. A Built-In Sun Deck Inside the Pool

This is basically a shallow ledge along one side of the pool, just deep enough that you can put a lounger half in the water and relax without actually swimming. People love this one. It’s probably the feature we get asked about the most these days. 

4. Natural Stone Around the Edges

Swap out the plain concrete or basic tiles for travertine or sandstone around your pool. It makes the whole area feel warmer and more natural, and honestly, it stays a lot cooler under your feet too, which matters a lot here in summer. 

5. A Jacuzzi Built RightIntothe Pool 

Instead of a separate jacuzzi sitting awkwardly off to the side, more villas are building it directly into the pool design now, usually slightly raised, with water flowing down into the main pool. 

6. Sharp, Clean Lines Instead of Curves

Straight-edged pools with sharp corners are taking over from the softer, curvy shapes that used to be everywhere. It just matches modern villa architecture better and looks more deliberate. 

7. Underwater Lighting That Actually Does Something

Soft coloured or warm underwater lights turn your pool into something worth looking at even when nobody’s swimming. At night it basically becomes a feature on its own. 

8. A Wall of Falling Water

A thin sheet of water flowing down from a raised wall straight into the pool adds movement and a nice bit of sound, without taking up much room. Small addition, but it makes a real difference near seating areas. 

9. An Outdoor Kitchen Right Next to the Pool

A lot of our clients are asking for this lately, putting an outdoor kitchen or small bar setup right beside the pool. It turns the area into somewhere you’d actually host friends, not just a place to swim and go back inside. 

10. A Pergola Covering Part of the Water

You don’t need your whole pool sitting in direct sun all day. A pergola stretched over part of it gives you a shaded spot to cool off without having to get out completely.
